Spinning, Weaving and Dyeing

I spin all the fibres I use on my spinning wheels. For the vessels and jewellery I use silk; a kind of silk call Eri silk, or peace silk. This silk is made in a way that the moth is able to emerge from the cocoon and fly off happily into the forest.

I also spin ALOT of wool from many beautiful breeds of sheep.

I dye my spun fibres with leaves, roots and flowers I grow or gather carefully from the local area.

I then handpaint the silks with modifiers to slightly change the tones. Each tiny skein is completely unique and beautiful.

I use the silks to create woven vessels with triple beaded edges. These are a homage to the plants that created the colours they are made from. I weave silk, beaded bracelets and necklaces that are light as a feather and feel like crystalline air.
